Miley Cyrus has been the center of attention for the past several months, especially for her MTV Music Awards performance. She’s been the butt of many jokes for this entire time, and probably with just cause.

I came across a meme comparing her change to the Kansas City Chiefs.  Just last year in 2012, Miley had a pretty All-American appearance.  At the same time, the Chiefs were a pretty awful team.  The meme seemed to sum up how things have changed for both Cyrus and the Chiefs NFL team.

I decided to share this meme on my Google Plus page, and it has gone viral. It’s pretty cool to see many people interact with giving a +1 but also commenting with their own opinion on Miley. However, there’s hardly a peep about the Chiefs, which was pretty much the original intent of sharing the meme!  The number of +1’s may be low to other viral gplus posts, but click the pic:  there’s been over 20,000 views on this picture!  That’s pretty amazing in my opinion.

I’m taking away a couple of things with this posting.  Miley Cyrus can be pretty good for viral social media traffic when tied in with your own niche.  I’ve always read that “sex sells”, but so do celebrities, especially those who seem to go “off the deep end”.  I’m going to start incorporating more Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga pics/memes in my marketing efforts and see what kind of social media traffic I can generate.  Also, Google Plus is a pretty good place for traffic.  Those who swear by Facebook and Twitter really need to use Google Plus seriously as a very vibrant and engaging community thrives there.
